Solenis Validated by the Science Based Targets initiative for Near Term Emissions Reduction Targets

WILMINGTON, Del. (USA) — Solenis, a leading global provider of water and hygiene solutions, has received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term science-based emissions reduction targets.

Solenis commits to:  

• Reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions 67% by FY2035 from a FY2024 base year 
• Reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions 37.5% within the same timeframe 

“Our validated targets reflect the work we are already doing to reduce emissions across our operations and value chain,” said Dr. Lotta Kanto Öqvist, chief sustainability officer, Solenis. “By taking these steps, we can provide solutions that also help our customers meet their own sustainability goals while advancing progress toward a low-carbon future.” 

The SBTi validation confirms that Solenis’ targets align with independent science based criteria. This supports ongoing work to reduce emissions in operations and throughout the value chain. Current projects include process efficiency improvements, equipment upgrades and supplier initiatives. These efforts drive measurable emissions reductions and help customers lower emissions associated with the products they use. 

Solenis continues to pursue other environmental goals, including work in water efficiency, sustainable product development and waste reduction. The company also maintains its long-term ambition to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its full value chain by 2050.
